Baguio's Hidden Gem: Hydro Falls

Baguio has always been my first love when it comes to travel. Even myself can't explain how happy I am to spend the remaining days of year 2012 at my favorite place on Earth. So here comes the dilemma, where to go? I had been to all tourist spots. Name it, I'd been there already! Good thing, Walter and I are really certified travel enthusiasts. We came across blissfulguro and batanglakwatsero's blogs and tadaaa! - The majestic Hydro Falls.

So here goes.. There are two ways how to get there. First is to take a jeepney along Harrison Road that says "Camp 6" but this would take much of your time because it will not go unless all seats are taken. So we opted for a taxi. From the city proper, we hailed a taxi and asked the driver to take us to Camp 6 via Kennon Road. He asked for a fixed rate of P200 which was kinda expensive but we agreed on it.

Along Kennon road, we saw jaw dropping view of the Cordillera mountains. It was an ineffable beauty!

Such a nice view! God's amazing creation.

We passed by the Lion's Head and from that spot, you must really pay attention already on the road and look for Simona's Store on the right side

There is no "To Hydro Falls" signage meaning this tourist spot is really new!

Total travel time was only 20 mins. Upon entering this store, you will encounter this old rustic bridge and mind you, it was really unstable when we were crossing. So I recommended to cross the bridge one person at a time for safety purposes.

After the bridge, we just followed our instinct on how to get to the falls. Just like any other first timers, we were in doubt & clueless along the way but what we did was to follow the huge boulder of rocks and see where it ends.

What a lovely sunflower!
Huge boulders of rock along the way

I highly discouraged anyone who visit this falls to wear slippers. You will have your instant and not-so-relaxing foot massage. Sarcastic huh? Please wear proper shoes or better a trekking shoes to have comfortable walk along the way.

River trekking was a bit of challenging and exciting as well. We have to skip from one rock to another rock. Be careful not to miss a single step or else you're going home with a wet shoes on.

Just follow the rock trails and you won't get lost
Wait! There's more!

After 30 mins of trekking, we were  rewarded and finally saw the majestic and grandeur creation of God: The Hydro Falls.

So beautiful!

Picture perfect and we rocked!
Syempers! Jumpshot is a must in every travel!
We rocked this falls!

We were all glad and felt lucky that we were able to visit this place firsthand. I just hope that they would take care and preserve the cleanliness of the area and the fall itself when the time comes that it will be known to tourist.

'til next time, Hydro Falls!

We went back to city proper by riding a jeepney along the highway. We just paid less P20 each person. When we arrived, we were so hungry and dehydrated that we decided to have our early dinner at a new Korean restaurant called Cuore. It can be found along the famous Session road.

I highly recommended this restaurant.  It was not the way I expected it to be but the food were delicious and servings do come in big sizes. It was relative cheap as well. Superb dining experience!

They also have an eat-all-you-can buffet for P300
Korean-inspired wall paintings
Ready to eat! Yummmy!

After our delightful dinner, we headed home and packed our things. It was a great day but we have to leave and bid goodbye to Baguio for the mean time.

See, in Baguio, everything is beyond perfect. It is my heart's haven. I feel safe. All of my problems seem to go away when I'm there, that's why I like love it there.

Until next time, Baguio.
